Terms for Companies and Recruiters

Last updated: October 15, 2026

Agreement

These terms apply to every company, recruitment agency and individual recruiter who uses orbi.jobs to hire ("you"). They add to our general Terms of Service. orbi.jobs is operated by Orbi the Alien LLC. By creating a company account or signing in as a recruiter, you agree to these terms on behalf of yourself and the company you represent.

Why these terms exist

Candidates on orbi.jobs are often employed and looking quietly. They trust us, and you, to keep that private. Many of them have hidden their profile from specific companies, including their current employer. Everything in these terms protects that trust. Breaking it can cost a candidate their job, so we treat it as a serious breach.

Your account and verification

  • You must give accurate information about yourself and the company you hire for, and keep it up to date.
  • We review every company before it gets access to candidates, and we may ask for more information or decline an account at our discretion.
  • Accounts are personal. Do not share your sign-in or let anyone else use your access.
  • Only create an account for the company or agency you actually work for.

Candidate confidentiality

Candidate information is confidential. You must not:

  • Tell anyone (including a candidate's current or former employer, colleagues or references) that a candidate is on orbi.jobs, is looking for a new job, or has applied to or been contacted about a role.
  • Share, forward, screenshot, export or otherwise pass on candidate profiles or any part of them, except to people inside your own hiring team who need it for a specific open role.
  • Use candidate information for anything other than recruiting the candidate for a genuine open role.
  • Use orbi.jobs to find out whether your own employees, or anyone else's, are looking for a job.

Recruitment agencies

Agencies use orbi.jobs like any other company: candidates who block your agency are hidden from you, but candidates who block one of your clients are not. That makes these rules essential:

  • Never reveal to a client, or to any other company, that one of its employees, or anyone else, is on orbi.jobs or looking for a job, in any form.
  • Never use what you see on orbi.jobs to a client's or any company's advantage, other than presenting a candidate for a specific open role.
  • Only present a candidate to a client for a specific open role, and only with the candidate's consent.
  • Everyone at your agency who uses orbi.jobs must follow these terms, and your agency is responsible for them.

Respecting block lists

Candidates can hide their profile from specific companies. You must not try to get around this, for example by using an account of a different company or agency, asking someone else to look a candidate up for you, or misrepresenting which company you work for.

Contacting candidates

  • Only contact candidates about genuine, open roles that match their profile.
  • No mass or automated messaging, and no marketing unrelated to a role.
  • Stop contacting a candidate who tells you they are not interested.
  • Never charge candidates a fee.

Job posts

  • Job posts must describe real, open roles accurately.
  • They must comply with applicable law, including equal-opportunity and anti-discrimination law.
  • We may edit, hide or remove any job post at our discretion.

Data protection

When you access or contact a candidate, you become responsible for how you handle their personal data under the laws that apply to you (such as the GDPR). You must keep it secure, use it only for recruiting, and delete it when you no longer need it for that purpose. You must not scrape the platform, copy candidate data in bulk, or use it to train software or AI models.

Monitoring

To protect candidates, we log searches, profile views and contact reveals, and we may limit or review unusual activity.

Plans and payment

New companies get a 30-day free trial once approved. After the trial you need a paid plan to keep using orbi.jobs; without one, your account becomes read-only. Prices are shown on our website or agreed with you in writing. You can cancel at any time; your plan then runs until the end of the period you have paid for.

Breach and its consequences

Revealing a candidate to an employer, client or anyone else can cost that person their job. We treat a breach of the confidentiality, agency or block-list rules as a serious matter, and it may have legal consequences for you and your company. If you break these rules:

  • We may close your account and your company's account immediately, for all of its recruiters, without refund, and refuse new accounts.
  • We may inform the affected candidate, including which company and recruiter were involved, so they can protect themselves and take action.
  • You and your company are liable for any harm caused to the candidate and to orbi.jobs, including legal costs, and agree to cover orbi.jobs for any claims that result.
  • We may take legal action and report the breach to the relevant authorities, including data protection authorities. Disclosing someone's personal data or job search without a lawful basis may itself be unlawful.

Liability

orbi.jobs is provided "as is". We do not guarantee hires, candidate availability or responses. To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

Changes

We may update these terms. We will tell you about significant changes by email. Continuing to use orbi.jobs after a change means you accept the updated terms.
